Traits are also more like degrees and not categories, someone can have degrees of introversion. Traits can in uence the relationships you have, the emotions you have etc. They interact with us based on the situations that we choose to be in, effects the reactions that we have towards other people. People could have the same inputs but due to traits they have different outputs. State anxiety: unpleasant emotional arousal in face of threats/dangers. Trait anxiety: tendency to respond with state anxiety in the anticipation of threats/dangers. Human nature level > like all others - most people want to belong to something.
