Pre-conscious: things that you can pull into your mind at any time from your memory. Un-conscious: it is a lot of work to conjure up this information (where we house our negative urges) Id: primitive and dominant in infancy, drives all urges that we have. *primary process principle: does not operate within the con nes of logic or reality. *wish ful llment: conjuring up an image that may alleviate the tension associated with not being able to ful ll an urge. Reality principle: realizes that that we cannot ful ll our urges all the time.
