A way to acquire hukou is through marriage (women). They are never alone, they are always accompanied. Sometimes, women in the uk being forced to marry someone in. Costs: disruption of family, dutch disease, widening inequality, rising cost especially in real estate. Costs: some are seen as nuisance, intolerance, racism, perception of jobs being taken away by immigrants, experiences might be different in regards to those who have been migrated into the area for a while compared to someone new.
