Tanner, canada, western society became age-differentiated due to industrial revolution. With the increase in technology less job opportunities were available for citizens. As a result, to this, the streets of canadian cities were occupied increasing property crime. Since youth were involved in crime for reasons that were their fault, they were treated more humanely than adults, they were seen to be in a state of delinquency at the time. A separate court system was established just for juvenile deliquesces. A correctional system was put into place that separated youth from adults.
