The older ones are over achievers, looked up to, higher education. Parenting: parental responsiveness: extent that parents are supportive of childs needs. Parents intentionally foster skills and individuality of children, regulation. Moe supportive the less delinquent children are: parental demandingness: appropriate behaviour from children. Refers to the demands that are asked of children and becoming intergraded in community, society in which they live. Monitoring clear standards on how children should behave: use disciple methods that are supported. Authoritarian: rejecting and demanding: more traditional families where obedience is valued, cooperate punishment- physical punishment, produce more aggressive children who copy use of physical discipline. Indulgent: support and not demanding: do not require mature behaviour, allow children extended self-regulation and avoid confrontation.
