Numbers: the number of women in the force has been increasing. They have a unique set of skills that are just as important as policing. Issues compared to male officers: they are often not recruited, the physical test required to pass is created with male capabilities in mind. Minority populations are skeptic of being brought in and treated equally. Visible strain and negative relationships b/w officers and recruits causes skepticism: women. A lot of sexist attitudes about not being capable enough. Police work: proactive, when police discover the crime on their own through their job. Most people believe it is very exciting but it can be very boring. 3 roles in their work they must fulfill all 3 for their job.
