A) Urinary System: Overview

 Structures:

o 2 kidneys

o 2 ureters – big tube that runs out of the kidney

o 1 urinary bladder – it's the the sa; oth ureters are attached to it

o 1 urethra – little nub at the end of the urinary bladder (what you pee out of)

 Functions:

o Regulates:

 blood volume – if you consume way too much

water, everything will be absorbed into the blood;

so you need the urinary system to regulate

 blood pressure – when you have a

o Eliminates wastes

i. Proximal Convoluted Tubule (PCT)

 in cortex

 in cortex & medulla

 connect nephron to ureter (via calyces/renal pelvis)
