Class #2, january 8 th , 2015: soring data. Soring involves ordering the data according to certain characterisics. The irst thing to note is that the interface for soring data appears to have changed between excel 2007 and excel 2010, so the illustraion in the textbook won"t appear in my demonstraion. You can access soring through data on the menu bar; upon choosing this opion, you"ll see that three opions are available. It is possible to quickly sort on an individual ield by clicking on the sort a to z or sort. Filtering data involves selecing a subset of records that saisfy paricular criteria, to the exclusion of others. Again, the interface for iltering data appears to have changed between excel 2007 and. Excel 2010, so don"t be surprised if you cannot follow the steps laid out in the textbook!
