The summary of intel"s selection decision in latin america. This chapter examined the intel"s site selection decision in latin america. First of all, the definition and intel"s development of microprocessors were introduced and there was a rapid growth of intel"s semiconductor industry. Consequently, intel expanded its plants to lots of countries and in 1996 intel noticed that they should make a new plant in latin america. After a very careful analysis of the collection of corresponding data, costa rica made the short list and cinde was created. After a large amount of supports from various institution (especially usaid), the costa rica was selected to be one of the sites. The phase2 is initial country visit, including questions that intel wanted answered, namely, get to know the local situation. Intel invested a huge amount of money and brought thousands of jobs and technically trained workers and engineers, which promoted the development of local economy exponentially.
