KIN 2320 Lecture Notes - Lecture 14: Gluteus Maximus Muscle, Vertebral Artery, Hyaline Cartilage
Document Summary
Lab 1 first 5 labs 15% of grade. Suboccipital region superior part of the back of the neck, is the triangular area inferior to the occipital region of the head including the posterior aspects of the c1 and c2 vertebra. Deep muscles 3 of them come together to form the suboccipital triangle (outlined in green) The suboccipital triangle - lies deep to the trapezius and semispinalis capitis muscles. The four small muscles in the suboccipital region rectus capitis posterior major and minor and obliques capitis superior and inferior are innervated by the posterior ramus of c1, the suboccipital nerve. These muscles are mainly postural muscles, but they act on the head- directly or indirectly as indicated by capitis in their name. Rectus capitis posterior major arises from the spinous process of c2 vertebrae and inserts onto the lateral part of the inferior nuchal line of the occipital bone.
