Account of the human good action in accordance with our good yields happiness. Virtue: traits/characteristics/habits that tends to yield action in accordance with the good: this cause action performatively by doing, e. g. humility (impersonal virtue promotes person relation, e. g. gratitude. Vice: traits/characteristics/habits that tends to yield action not in accordance with the good. If i am the type of person who practices cruelty to animals, then more likely that i will be cruel to human. Hill"s account to environmental virtue ethic is derivative. No necessary connection b/w the traditional virtues and concern for the environment. Connection b/w the virtues and the good is anecdotal.
