Canada is a new exporter of beef and cattle and the worlds largest exported. 70% of our production is exported primarily to usa , rest is exported to korea, china etc. Country of origin labeling ( cool) it was created by the us to prevent beef and pork from coming into the united states. they can no longer discriminate were the beef is coming from. The agricultural groups that were responsible for cool are putting pressure on to re instate this law not allowing canadian beef to be sold in the us. This would be really bad for the canadian beef and pork industry. The bulk of the beef cow population in canada is in alberta saskatchewan and a little bit in manitoba. The bulk of dairy cows is in onvarion and quebec, which produce calfs that are used for beef.
