Document Summary
Mcim 223. 3 principles of microbiology and immunology for nursing. Course syllabus 2015-16: course objectives and learning outcomes: The course is an introduction to the broad field of microbiology, but with a focus on the role of microorganisms in human health and disease. Emphasis is placed on the biology and clinical significance of different groups of microbes (bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites) important in human diseases, including a discussion of the diagnosis, control, and treatment of infectious agents. In addition, an overview of the human immune system is provided. Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: Describe the basic structural and biological characteristics of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa.
