Out obligation is to obey the state"s rule. Slavery; objection towards women: to deny natural inequality or subordination. Replacing view of natural subordination with one of neutral equality: political right and legitimacy flows in some way of the good that escape. Aristotle: the state is a condition of the good life : modern liberalism is often accused of being sceptical.
