Document Summary

Dna damage = it is a normal process to be hit by ros. Dna is e(cid:448)er(cid:455) (cid:272)ell is (cid:862)hit(cid:863) (cid:271)(cid:455) ro greater tha(cid:374) (cid:1005)(cid:1004)(cid:1004),(cid:1004)(cid:1004)(cid:1004)(cid:454) a da(cid:455) It is important to eat foods rich in antioxidants (dark chocolate, red wine, etc. : especially food rich in vitamin c and e. Adverse outcome pathways (aop) it is used in human and ecotoxicology risk assessment. Used as a framework to look at the various events that occur that lead to a toxic effect. Many ros are removed before interacting w/ dna. When ros hits the dna, they can cause: base oxidation (atcg, sugar oxidation, strand break (single/double) ozone and hydroxyl radical, dna-protein crosslinks. These things can result w/ that part of the dna not being properly transcribed. Oxidative damage to dna can either be repaired, or lead to mutations or apoptosis: mutations are gene alterations that can lead to tumors or necrosis.
