There is some reduction in teeth and face size and a small increase in cranial capacity over this period. Discovered by leakey team at nariokotome, lake turkana. Provides evidence of prolonged development in h. erectus. Larger than oldowan tools with a set of typical shapes. Evidence of large scale fauna remains with h. erectus site. Still unclear if these are hunt or scavenge sites.
