Last week: (week 2)don"t be an island, get a confidante. Interdependent collection of employees who can interact over time for a common objective. Optimal size: at least 3, no more than 11: workers depend on each other, to work efficiently/effectively, all employees no outsider, odd numbers to allow for majorities, males, females, new, old, etc. Need to become a team, come together for a common cause. Group needs are more important than individual needs. Can be as effective as physical teams. Self-directed (group decided who the defacto leader is: imposed, given formal authority, common willingness, informal authority. 6: periodically check adjust where needed. Good: task: opinion seeker, summariser, tester, gatekeeper, relational: praise giver, encourager, tension reliever, harmoniser, dysfunctional: egoist, blocker, attacker, withdrawer. Rule by title leader has final say. How to get most out of a team. Group think when ppl with same background come together: one indiv, will set the pace, and everyone will follow.
