The monkey lower: the coastal type invests energy into vegetaive growth and less onto lowers while the inland type uses its energy to produce lowers rapidly. In land plant is beter adapted than coastal type. Phenotypes of island pundamilia cichlids in lake victoria p. pundamilia males have blue-gray coloraion that atracts females of their species, while p. nyererei males have a bright red dorsum that atracts females of their species. Species found in deeper water have lws alleles that encode opsins that respond more strongly to red light than those in species found in shallower water. Red species is found in deeper water and the blue species in shallow water. Cichlid species from diferent depths typically have diferent lws opsin alleles as a result of selecion for improved color vision.
