Document Summary
Peahen is wooed by the peacock with its extravagant elaboraions/display. The display is too costly and makes it ineicient to run away from and even atract predators. They suspect that dinosaurs had a similar patern of dances and songs as a mean to atract a mate. Sexual selecion found in humans too (we see sexual dimorphisms in humans too) Adverising good genes via display and ornament or even songs. Male parental care is rare (sperm is cheap) Parental investment increases the reproducive success of the ofspring receiving it. At the same ime, it decreases the remaining reproducive success that the parent may achieve in the future by way of addiional ofspring. Males don"t spend much energy on sperm producion; females spend more energy to form eggs. Females put more ime into parental care (restricted by number of eggs they rear). Males are gene donors (restricted by number of mates they can mate with, males have the potenial to mate ininitely).
