Transition of music represented a transition going in the larger american society. Country had changed greatly from the upheavals of the early 60"s. Tolerance for eccentricity grew especially in the 70"s. Kiss raised the bar high for stage theatrics. By the late seventies everything in rock music was excessive. Sex with multiple partners became the norm. This world of excess gave birth to disco. Wanted to use music to bring people together and tear down the walls. Barry white"s loves theme - so widespread almost became emblematic of the period it was in. The hustle main song on his album disco baby.
