Socio-economic condiions in childhood can be a greater predictor of cvd and diabetes in adults than later life circumstances and behavioral choices - cma statement, 2013 - released to the canadian government. The doctors cannot ix problems of people unil the government ixes theirs (job loss, stress, lack of educaion etc. ) In order to improve the health of people, primary plaforms of poliicians are: more doctors, improve hospital wait imes, beter and more accessible drug policies, etc. This is wrong, focus should be on those that are experiencing economic marginalizaion and improving their socio-economic condiions. Doctors know that frequent-lyers in terms of medical care need, are those that need government help. Frames the way we think about healthcare.
