Social relations that influence/determine people"s capacity to act: organize the structure of society. These social structures empower some and disempower others. **set up to maintain relations elbowed with power. Money - make decisions, purchase land . Place - capacity to decide social structures in these places. Identity: some identities have more power than other (eg: whites) Flow of capital (money) dictates who has power/ability to act: cap = resources = life. Those who have cap: can buy, do things. Those who control cap: wealthy individuals can control (where is money going, how much salaries, minimum wage ) Those who generate cap: those who work to earn a wage, and help accumulate capital for those higher up. Marxist-bourgeoisie and proletariat (working class work hard to get products that higher ups/bourgeoisie can sell for themselves: marxist says this is the main driver of social structure. Accumulation of land/territory and the control (power) over inhabitants and resources: diplomacy or force.
