Inner (unconscious) forces interact to make us who we are: behaviour, emotions, and personality develop in a dynamic (interacting, changing) interplay between conscious and unconsciousness processes, including carious motives and inner conflicts. Famous neo-freudians : otto rank 1884-1939, karen horney 1885-1952, anna freud 1895-1982, erich fromm 1900-1980. Famous feuding-freudians : alfred adler 1870-1937, carl jung 1875-1961, harry stack sullivan 1892-1949, erik erikson 1902-1994. The layers of personality: unconscious is deep under water, subconscious level somewhat seen when close, conscious level visible.
