Chris burris (guest lecture): asked us to complete a survey for his research. Respect for free and informed consent the assumption is that our freedom/free consent is not always free ( can often be manipulated even without our awareness). For example, to not feel like there are grades attached, that there is authority watching me, etc so removing these pressures take extra care. Respect for justice and inclusiveness ( some people are marginalized) Balancing harms and benefits ( can be the most challenging, because we are often guessing about the benefits and harms. The benefits you are hoping for may not materialize and you have to guess how people may be injured in some way i. e. are we putting people at emotional harms way?) Asked the people in a group study and 90 percent of them said that their criminal activity was related to issues with their parents.
