Him and homer are poets around the same times. ~700 bce (the beginning of the archaic age (written greek history)) Made known by this fight with brother (his works were about him ranting about his bro ^^;) Wrote the works and days and the theogany. *oh a pyxis is a box that depicts 6 muses. This isn"t talking about the creation of the universe, but the creation of the gods. Has no definitive hero, but it"s literally all about zeus. The meaning of this theogany work is "why zeus is in charge" Greek culture + near eastern culture is combined and apparent during this theogany. Apparently, there was a lot of influence from the near eastern cultures. Invocation of gods: asking for guidance from the gods. Individual poets ask for invocation from the gods and then what they utter is to tell about the gods.
