Conviction that a specific mode of conduct or end state of existence is personally or socially preferable to an opposite mode of conduct or end-state of existence. Ideas as to what is right, good or desirables. Influence attitudes and behavior (shows what you prioritize over other things) Stable and enduring (they may change but over a long period of time) Mainly early years parents, teachers, friends and others (after this time, values do not change too much) Terminal values desirable end-states of existence/ final way of living (comfortable life, self-respect) Instrumental values preferable ways of behaving means to achieving terminal. Extent to which a society accepts that power in institutions and organizations is distributed unequally. Large inequalities of power and wealth exist and are tolerated class and caste system. Low rating = society that stresses equality and opportunity.
