Ideology has been defined as: (way to specific) system of beliefs characteristic of a particular group. Black lives matter, feminists, catholic, etc. that we all have a different ideology that separates us. Illusory beliefs - false ideas or false consciousness - which can be contrasted with true or scientific knowledge. Fantasy sort of beliefs, false conscious ness or ideas, no correspondent to the real world. Opposes it to scientific knowledge, science casts out ideology because it can prove things. The general process of the production of meaning and ideas. Ideology that tells us what is true, and what gives us ideas, what allows us to have fantasies. Comes from marxist critique maximum control with a minimum of conflict. Take ideology out of the realm of direct oppression or brainwashing. Not do this or do that or you"ll be arrested or exiled, etc. but rather ensuring people are to comply without overt coersion.
