Geob 102 - our changing environment: climate and ecosystems - lecture 18: the economics. The computer model cannot define how clouds form. Sea level rise estimate by the ipcc. Scientist have to be skeptic of everything. Ipcc says 468 ppm increase in 100 years = 4 degree celsius warming. It is difficult to reduce the emissions and have an important effect on temperature. Reality: the relative contribution of natural and anthropogenic sources of radiative forcing is still uncertain. There is no such thing as clean energy. It has to be a global effort. Pointless for small countries to make an effort unless it is made globally. We rely on fossil fuels for cheap energy. There is no empirical evidence indicating co2 is a major driver of temperatures. Climate is a chaotic system with thousands of unmeasurable variables and parameters, and therefore computer models cannot accurately represent the reality.
