Migration movement to greece: recently been increasing again, 50/day 200/day arriving. Increased proportion of unaccompanied minors: around 1,600 waiting for solution, several possible reasons. If they then start moving to another country, destination country has right to deport them back. Starting points: unequal exchange: can"t assume global inequality, why are there rich and poor countries, what distinguishes rich countries: rec. Large supply of migrants, but demand: migration rules are eset by affluent countries to rpeserve their dominance, typically have three components. Limit access to affluent countries: enable importation of cheap labour as needed, enable importation of skilled labour as needed. Migration as an elment of underdevelopment: migration causes a brain drain in less developed countries, migration causes a brain gain in more developed countries, this exploits the educational capacity of less developed countries. In some cases, this development fueled by migration.
