Donders (1818 1889): demonstrated that the time between stimulus presentation and response could be quantified (mental chronometry: hermann von helmholtz (1821 1894): measured the speed of nerve impulses in the frog"s leg. Also developed the theory of color perception. Structuralism: 1st school: wundt and titchener founded this school of thought; it focused on breaking down mental processes into the most basic components.
