Cognitive dissonance theory: cognitive dissonance exists when related cognitions (or a behaviour) are inconsistent that is, when they contradict each other. If the attitude and behaviour are valuing the same thing = consistent. Im an active guy + u spend ask my time with stressful kids. Im not an active guy anymore or i like stress: rationalize -> i must love my kids a lot so i give up my favourite activities and endure the crying, fighting & tantrums. Behaviour is shaped by our subjective perceptions of how others expect us to behave: don"t kno(cid:449) ho(cid:449) to (cid:271)eha(cid:448)e. When we go shopping -> how other peoples perceive us in our clothes want to be attractive. When we go on a first day -> want to act in a way so that the other person find sus attractive.
