First step is to rule out other factors: medication & supplement interactions. Neurological and memory tests: mmse, mini mental state examination, reflexes, eye tracking. Early clinical symptoms: forgetfulness, difficulty learning new things, following conversations, and concentrating, getting lost, not being able to follow directions, communication difficulties, mood shifts, depression, apathy, mild co-ordination problems, difficulty with challenging cognitive tasks. Middle stage clinical symptoms: memory problems become more pronounced, e. g remember your own name but not your address, declining concentration.
