People engage in behaviour due to the influence of others. Others tell you this is not okay. People go by certain norm, rule, etc. We conform because the forces of social influence compel us to act in a certain way. Three form of social influence that leads to conformity. Conform because we want other to like and accept us. Conformity allows us to accomplish the goal of acceptance. Implicit or explicit rules of acceptable behaviours, values, and beliefs for members. You know that it is not appropriate to sing in the middle of the class even though no one has told you. Things that you are being told to or not to do. Doing what other wants us to do or what other is doing. The behaviour aspect is compliance of what is expected of us. Exist to compel people to act in a certain way.
