Document Summary

Three form of social influence that leads to conformity. Strongly affect the behaviour one will engage it. But doesn"t not affect one"s private acceptance of the norm nor the thought. Assume everyone else endorses a norm, even though people privately reject the norm. The maintenance of a certain culture practice because everyone keeps doing it thus create a sense that this is the norm. Do things on the surface, doesn"t necessarily believe. When we are conforming to others" behaviour because we think others" interpretation, behaviours, thoughts, are appropriate and correct. If we act similarly, we would engage appropriately as well. We try to understand a situation and learn which norm exists and try to engage in the norm. Mundane situation such as petting a dog. We think others are able to teach us something. We are more likely to accept the behaviour. Think it"s right and engage as well.
