Document Summary

The one study problem: major limitation of research as it is shared by the media: both the media and its consumers problem with focusing on one set of findings. Disconcerting as it relates to health information, we see recommendations made about how people should change their behaviour/lifestyle based on one study"s findings. Therefore we need a scientific consensus before we make recommendations. The role of education: health behaviour fads and trends can catch on all too easily. Gluten free diet: (not celiac disease): is there enough education around why people adopt the gluten free diet. In 2013 gibson re did the study, better controlling for some factors and found out that gluten sensitivity was the same as celiac disease. Engaging in other health behaviours, becoming more active, not eating bread/beer which are high in calories (removal of many main sources of carbohydrates), power of suggestion/placebo (the simple belief that you are going to feel better).
