Document Summary
The psychology of organic and gmo food consumption. Anecdotal evidence, hearing a friend say they feel better, people want magical cures rather than the truth. There was a study who analyzed dr. oz and the validity of the claims and the large majority were not founded in solid research. Large meta-analyses have suggested no significant differences in nutritional content. But recent research has suggested a negative impact of trace pesticide on fetal health, brain health and iq. Nutritional research is very difficult (following people for long periods of time and accounting for every aspect of their diet is impossible) but the leading consensus is that going organic is not going to extend your life. Concluded that gmo crops are safe to eat. Yet we don"t have a long term perspective so one might still argue that there is information missing. Personal values and ethics including ecology, universalism, spirituality, self-direction, also conformity.
