SOCI 328 Lecture 12: L12
Document Summary
Three aspects of a relationship between two categorical variables: nature or direction of relationship. Wealthy people are more likely than poor people to : strength of relationship, weak vs strong. If sample is randomly drawn from population, whether relationship is statistically significant. Cross tabulation: displays number of observations observed at all the combinations of possible outcome for the two variables. Other names for cross-tabulations are two-way tables, contingency tables and crosstabs. We create the hypotheses: ho: variables are unrelated in population, ha: variables are related in population.
