Market basket measure: a family is considered low income if it cannot afford goods and services that represent a basic standard of living. Low income measure: household is low income, if it is below 50% of median household incomes. Gender issues: poverty gap between men and women has decreased significantly, employment nature between men and women is still significantly different. Women less employed (57% compared to 65% for men)
