The structures and propensities inside a person that explains his or her characteristic patterns of thought, emotion and behaviour; personality reflects what people are like and creates their social reputation. Most adjectives are variations of 5 broad factors. Represents traits like being dependable, organized, hard-working, etc. Strongest (most stable) "personality" predictor of performance (correlation of 0. 3: agreeableness. Represents traits like being warm, friendly, cooperative, etc. Represents traits like being sociable, outgoing, talkative, etc. Associated with external locus of control: openness to experience. Represents traits like being imaginative, creative, sophisticated, etc. When combined with cognitive ability, produces creative though and performance. Degree to which a situation has clear and strong expectations on behaviour. Stereotypes (if situation reminds us of gender, ethnicity) Relatively stable capabilities of people for performing a particular range of related activities. Cognitive ability: capabilities related to the use of knowledge to make decisions and solve problems.
