Step 6: hr decision making (e. g. pay, promoion etc. ) Focal performance appraisal: an appraisal system in which all of an organizaion"s employees are reviewed at the same ime of the year rather than on the anniversaries of the individual hire dates. Good appraisal systems have the capability to inluence employee behaviour and improve an organizaion"s performance. Formal appraisal processes also ensure that employees receive at least some feedback from their supervision. Appraisal programs provide input that can be used for the enire range of hrm aciviies, such as promoions, transfers, layofs and pay decisions.
