Document Summary
Trust : willingness to be vulnerable (open up yourself) based on positive expectations that the other party has good intentions and actions towards us (in a way that is admirable, fair, honest etc. ) Rooted in personality (rooted in who we are) Ex. how agreeable you are (agreeableness trait) Cognition based trust (other"s behaviour) - playing detective. A person is deemed trustworthy when they provide evidence of: Ability (special expertise that i don"t have - financial advisor) Does this person live by a desirable set of values/principles? (do they match mine?) Affect-based trust (emotions) - focused on gut feeling. May supplement the other types of trust. Fig 8. 1 * factors that influence trust levels. Being treated fairly increases trust in other party. Everybody has a chance at the outcome. Everyone gets benefits if you are full time. Overtime pay gets allocated to those who had extra expenses that month. How fair is the process that was used to make this decision.
