Deviance some sense of going against normalcy, wrong. Injury is a good way of looking at deviance and the ability of an athlete to come over an injury. Deviance involves a rejection of accepted goals of the means of achieving goals in society (the rejection of a norm) Conformity is equated with morality (your willingness to go along w/ things is evidence of your morality) Deviances is caused by a faulty socialization or inconsistencies in the social system. Deviance is controlled by getting touch and enforcing more rules more strictly. Deviance involves action that interfere with the interests of those with economic power. The actions of those who lack power are more likely to be labeled as deviant (the blacks tend to be more deviant) Those who deviate often are victims of exploitation in a system characterized by inequalities. The problem of deviance will be minimal when power is equally distributed in society.
