Levirate: in some societies, a widow marries brother of dead husband (occurs within a patrilineal lineage) Sororate: widower marries sister of dead wife (occurs within a matrilineal lineage) Cousin: marriages: it would be preferred for the person to marry a cross cousin (either in a patrilineal or matrilineal marriage, it is preferred to marry a cross cousin vs. parallel cousin.
