Wide variation/unpredictable rainfall (summer vs spring vs fall) Prevents over-exploitation and degradation (won"t be using all the resources if in smaller groups: fluid social groups. Wealth and social status differences are minor. There are not no differences though, it does not matter much. Avoids conflict; makes it easier to share. Individual skills and social ties: division of labour; age and sex. Women and children primarily but also men.
