Brazil- large population descended from african"s that were brought. Identity based on shared cultural beliefs, habits, values, customs and norms; common language, religion, kinship, history ( eg. common geographic origins) More useful because it"s looking at the shared practice & belief & (cid:1) doesn"t classify people based on specific skin colour (cid:1) doesn"t mean there isn"t a lot of diversity between different ethnicity. More useful then that of race, but still problematic shared habits.
