Is a couple a family without children: how is your family or your cultural other groups meet, what is our societal meaning that our families without children do have meaning. Religious importance: part of life, what you do. Pronatalism: belief that having children is a good thing, how does it play out in our society, laws encourage to have children, discourage people to have kids as well, depends on the society. Replace your own identity with kids, take a step back. Early 20th century: quality of offspring: stronger family ties, eugenics (supreme race, fitness to have children), more women children had, more risk for their health. Early 21st century: workers: structural debates, institutional debates, do we have enough workers to do this. Higher birth rates amongst: cultures that value reproduction, have less access to birth control and relatively inexpensive: extended family, urbanized cultures, culturally based.
