Need to develop a way to measure the concept, idea we develop a technique, a procedure or process. The data: turning concepts into a numerical form vs allowing data to be in various forms. Making links between data & concepts: relect on concepts prior to data collecion vs developing concepts during data collecion. Qualitaive can add material as research is being conduced. Quanitaive have data in some numerical form, to be able to analyze using staisical analysis. Conceptualizaion - process of developing a clear conceptual deiniion for abstract concepts/ideas (e. g disease progression: conceptual deiniion: careful systemaic deiniion of construct, explicitly writen to clarify one"s thinking.
