A young french aristocrat named pierre de couberin began their revival. Athens was chosen for the revival of the. Couberin"s atempt to get france interested in sports was not met with enthusiasm. In 1890, he organized and founded a sports organizaion: Two years later, couberin irst pitched his idea to revive the olympic games. Use sport to foster vigorous and well- rounded people. Though couberin was not the irst to propose the revival of the olympic games, he was certainly the most well-connected and persistent of those to do so.
