Document Summary

Structural/behavioural similarity in terms of functions between unrelated species or organisms. Not share a common ancestral or developmental origin. Co2 reacts with ocean water releasing hydrogen ions making it more acidic. These hydrogen ions react with carbonate to form bicarbonate ions. In the oceans at all times, carbon dioxide and water eventually create calcium carbonate that falls as a very thin layer at the bottom of the ocean however this layer continues to grow and grow over time. It"s the study of how populations and species are distributed geographically. It is also another proof for darwin"s theory of evolution. Birds from different but close islands, they are all very similar but yet they are different species. Darwin thought that perhaps they came from a common ancestor and they changed when they parted ways. Carbonate is the salt of carbonic acid. Acts as weak base and reacts in an acid base reaction to form carbon dioxide.
