When you opened the shales, there were little impression of small organisms. Shales were found by two students from england. Fossils showed that everything existed in a very short period of time. A unikont ancestor that is in the opisthokant. Swam with a flagellum at the back and pushed itself forward. Created a current with its flagellum that brought in water w/ particles.
